A Life Desire

On my mother’s headstone is written what may well have been her mission statement. It says, "She loved to live and lived to love."

I wish my life to be based on that premise, as displayed and commanded by Jesus when He said, "Love one another."

If I have a true Christ-like love for others, I will find it impossible to criticize, gossip about, hate, or do anything that upsets my relationship with those around me. With Christ’s perfect love as the primary principle, the very essence or core of my life, then all else will be in balance. I will have no fear for tomorrow, rather, I will look forward to it with anticipation and joy. Jesus said, "Consider the lilies of the field, they neither toil nor labor." If God cares enough to create even the lilies in the field, which is here today and tomorrow is burned, to be so beautiful; can I believe that He cares less for me?

With Christ’s love as my central core principle, I will realize my desire to rid myself of any selfishness, dishonesty, negativity, fear, depression, and any other sin or weakness the Devil can load me with. I will be able to forgive myself for being less than perfect and will be able to love myself. I will then be able to help and encourage others as they grow in life.

I desire to give - therefore I will discover and use my talents to that end.
